(ALL CLIENTS MUST HAVE A VALID/UP TO DATE SKIN TEST BEFORE ANY COLOUR CAN BE APPLIED)
Allergy Alert Testing (AAT) & Colourstart
To prioritise your safety and well-being, we have adopted Colourstart as our standard Allergy Alert Testing approach for all clients receiving colour services:
- Colourstart – Our Standard for Allergy Testing:
Colourstart is now mandatory for all clients and offers a convenient, clinically proven allergy screening option licensed by the MHRA. Colourstart allows you to conduct a one-time test, which provides you with a “Colourstart Passport” to confirm your allergy status before each colour service without needing repeated tests. Colourstart is compatible with all hair colour brands and is designed to ensure maximum safety and efficiency for both you and our team.
- Colourstart takes 5 days to complete so please leave plenty of time to have the patch applied and await results. You don't have to wait for your current skin test to run out, to have colour start. Please note that Colourstart is a medical test and includes a one-time fee of £15, covering the cost of the test and associated administration. We will assist you with setting up Colourstart at your next appointment.
- Allergy Alert Test (AAT) – For Health-Restricted Clients Only:
For clients whose health conditions prevent them from using Colourstart, our Allergy Alert Test (AAT) will be available. This test requires you to visit the salon 24-48 hours before your service to complete our allergy testing protocol. We rely on you to notify us if you need to follow the AAT protocol instead of Colourstart to ensure accurate scheduling.
- What constitues as an "invalid" or "out of date" Allergy Alert Test? (when not using colour start)
- You’re changing your shade of colour.
- You haven’t had a colour service with us before.
- More than 12 months have passed since your last test.
- You’ve had a skin tattoo recently or experienced any allergic reactions.
- You’ve had a colour application outside our salon since your last appointment with us
We hope you understand and see that this is a new efficient way forward. We will not be able to go a head with any colour service if you need an Allergy Alert Test. Any appointments that are not able to go a head within the 48hours cancellation policy will be charged 75% of total service cost if we cannot proceed with the service as it is the clients responsibility to make sure your AAT is up to date.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On the day of your colour appoinment we will double check by asking you some more questions. We appreciate you taking the time to follow our protocol.
