Yes! A consultation is essential before any grey blending service. During this appointment, we will assess your hair, discuss your colour goals, and create a bespoke plan tailored to you. This ensures the best possible results and a seamless, low-maintenance blend.

Our consultation fee is £10, which is redeemable against a colour service booked within 8 weeks of your consultation. This means if you decide to go ahead with your grey blending, the consultation cost is deducted from your colour appointment.

💬 Do I need a patch test before my colour appointment?

Yes! A patch test is essential before any colour service to ensure your safety. At Hair @ Plush, we use Colourstart, a convenient adhesive skin test that checks for any potential allergies or sensitivities to hair colour—so there’s no need for an extra trip to the salon.

The Colourstart test costs £15, a fee set by Colourstart, which we make no profit from. This cost covers the medical-grade testing kit and its the safest colour experience possible. While this fee is non-redeemable, the good news is that once you’ve completed the process, you won’t need to repeat the test unless your medical history changes.

Your Colourstart test must be completed at least 4 days before your appointment, giving us time to confirm your results. If you have regular colour services, you won’t need to retest unless since your last colour you’ve had a medical change (such as pregnancy, illness, or new medications)
